The Magic City Acceptance Center offers several monthly programs for LGBTQ adults 21+. Programs are offered virtually via a secure Discord server, and in-person at our physical location in Birmingham. Speak OUT Discord
A weekly virtual meetup for LGBTQ adults ages 21+. Conversations take place in a secure Discord server- a text-based platform. Free and open to any LGBTQ adults in Alabama. Click the "Join Our Adult Discord Server" button above to join!
Speak OUT Support Group
A monthly professionally facilitated support group for LGBTQ adults ages 21+. Meetings take place on the first Wednesday of each month at 5 PM at the Magic City Acceptance Center. No registration or fees are required. Scan the QR code on the flyer, or email Laura@mcac-bao.org for more information!
LGBTQ Book Club
A monthly book club meeting for LGBTQ adults ages 21+. Meetings take place in person in a at the Magic City Wellness Center. BYOB and snacks! Email Keller@mcac-bao.org for more information!
Lavender Stitchers
Lavender Stitchers is an inclusive group for portable and fiber craft lovers who are already experienced in their craft! Those who knit, crochet, needlepoint, etc are invited to attend this monthly meetup to share space and connect with LGBTQ community members at the Magic City Wellness Center from 6-7 PM the first Wednesday of each month! Gender Friendly Partner Dancing
Gender friendly partner dancing is about learning how to move to music with another human being, without the attached stereotypes of sexuality and gender. This class will teach you the absolute basics: how to ask someone to dance, how to connect in different holds, how to move around the space together. You can lead, or follow, or have a go at both. If you come back to more classes, you'll learn different dance styles, and how to get fancy! This class is 100% beginner friendly - you don't need a partner, or special shoes - just come as you are and be ready to try moving to music with another person.
Sunday Outings
A free community walking group for LGBTQ+ folks of all ages. We are a "go your own pace" group for all bodies. Meet us weekly on Sundays at 4 PM at Birmingham AIDS Outreach (BAO). We’ll walk the Rotary Trail while enjoying community and movement! This is free to attend and no registration is required. Questions? Email Kelly@mclc-bao.org
Yoga
You're invited to free monthly community yoga at MCAC! This is a beginner yoga for all bodies and all ages, facilitated by Kim Richardson from Yes, You Yoga. Bring a mat and join us on the 3rd Monday of each month!
Gay Dads of Birmingham
Gay Dads of Birmingham meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month from 6-7 PM at the Magic City Wellness Center. All gay dads ages 21+ are welcome! Many have kids from a previous straight marriage, and there are gay dads who have children through adoption. This group represents a wide cross-section of the Birmingham Metro area.
